Richard Jeffrey, the chief executive of Edinburgh's tram project has quit recently after just two years in the same post. Jeffrey had joined Edinburgh tram in May 2009. The reports state that he feels that he has been sidelined from some talks related to the project. It was also announced that Prince Street would need to bet shut for 10 months.

The councilors have been investigating the cost incurred for canceling the project since Monday. And Jeffrey resigned on Thursday. Most of the budget has been spent already and now, there's a need for more finance. Edinburgh West MSP Colin Keir said that Richard Jeffrey was supposed to spin the tram project, but instead of doing that, he quit. So, the future of Edinburgh's tram seems to be uncertain.
